About 1.5 miles of right-bank fishing on a slow, deep, strong-flowing length of the Severn at Alberbury — may look uninviting at first sight, but under-rated with great potential, especially for coarse fishing. Plenty of wildlife including roe deer. Large areas of deep water make it an excellent winter stretch, and a good alternative to the Isle Estate water with fewer restrictions. Shallower areas at the top and bottom, weedy patches downstream of a small wood. Heavy bankside vegetation, mostly arable fields, though obvious swims have been cut in the top field. Note: the area across the river is a Military Training Area, marked DANGER on the OS map.
