Who we are
Rod and Bank is run by Oliver Smart ("we", "us", "our"). You can contact us at oliver@rodandbank.com or by post at Ashfield Way, Cholsey, Wallingford, OX10 9FU.
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this website, why we collect it, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. It is written in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
What information we collect
Newsletter subscriptions. If you sign up to our newsletter, we collect your email address. This is stored and managed by Beehiiv, our newsletter platform.
Contact form. If you get in touch through our contact form, we collect the information you provide, which may include your name, email address, the reason for contacting us, details of any stretch or listing you're referring to, how you heard about us, and the content of your message. This is submitted through a Webflow form and stored by Webflow.
Website usage data. We use Google Analytics to understand how people use our website, for example which pages are most visited and how visitors find us. This involves cookies, which may collect information such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you visit.
Why we use this information
We send you our newsletter because you've asked us to, by subscribing. You can unsubscribe at any time, and we'll stop emailing you.
We use the information from the contact form to respond to your enquiry, report, or feedback. We have a legitimate interest in running and improving Rod and Bank, which includes being able to reply to people who contact us about it.
We use Google Analytics, where you've given consent via our cookie banner, to understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies for Google Analytics. These cookies are only set with your consent, which you can give or withdraw using the cookie banner on our website.
Who we share your information with
We use the following third parties to help run Rod and Bank: Beehiiv, to manage our newsletter and subscriber list. Webflow, to host our website and process contact form submissions. Google, to provide website analytics through Google Analytics.
These providers may process your information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where this happens, they are required to provide appropriate safeguards for your data, in line with UK data protection law.
How long we keep your information
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep a record of this to make sure we don't email you again, but stop sending you anything further.
If you contact us through our contact form, we keep your enquiry and the information you provided for up to 24 months, after which it is deleted unless we need to keep it longer for legal reasons.
Google Analytics data is retained according to the settings in our Analytics account, which can be reviewed and adjusted at any time.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that's inaccurate, ask us to delete your information, ask us to restrict or stop using your information in certain circumstances, receive your information in a portable format, and withdraw your consent at any time, for example by unsubscribing from our newsletter.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at oliver@rodandbank.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe your information has been mishandled.
Children
Rod and Bank is not aimed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
