The Crane is a stretch of the Bristol Avon running from the cycle track bridge to the cattle grid at Portavon Marina in Keynsham, controlled by Bristol & West of England Federation of Anglers. Fishing is for members of the Federation's member clubs (Keynsham AA, Crosshands AC, Amalgamated Fisheries and Alcove AC). Species include carp, chub, pike, bream and roach. Night fishing is not permitted.

2026-27: Federation water — members of its member clubs only: Keynsham AA (2026 calendar-year licence £20, reduced for the rest of 2026; 2027 licences on sale from 1 December 2026); Crosshands AC £70 (membership year 1 May – 30 April); Amalgamated Fisheries Ltd £85, over-65 £70 (2025-26 permit valid to 1 June 2026; 2026-27 price not yet published); Alcove AC 2026-27 via ClubMate (price not published; waiting list). No day tickets.

Parking

Parking Information

Access via the lane alongside the car breakers yard on foot only. AFL: park opposite the marina; entry on foot via the track between Matthews Buildings and the scrapyard — vehicles strictly prohibited. Ample parking near Portavon Marina and the Lock Keeper Inn. No fishing inside the marina.
