Samlesbury Fishery is a stretch on the River Ribble from Preston Road Bridge upstream to the back of Samlesbury School and downstream to Little Stream, controlled by Samlesbury Anglers. Day tickets are available: Day permit from the BP petrol station behind the Tickled Trout Hotel (PR5 0UJ), or ask at Gorgow's Farm - cash. A photog... Day permit from the BP petrol station behind the Tickled Trout Hotel (PR5 0UJ), or ask at Gorgow's Farm - cash. A photographed historical permit shows GBP 6.00 for an adult coarse and brown trout day permit, but other sources give GBP 5, GBP 8 and GBP 12 depending on species and date - the permit is undated so this may be an older price. Confirm current pricing at the petrol station. ONE ROD only per permit. Free parking at the petrol station for paying anglers.

Night Fishing

NOT PERMITTED. The historical Samlesbury Fishery permit states explicitly: 'NO NIGHT FISHING, viz. Between one hour after sunset and one hour before sunrise.' This should be treated as the club's actual rule rather than the earlier 'permitted with an additional ticket' note, which may have applied to a different water.

Parking Information

Free parking for permit-holding anglers in the car park behind the BP petrol station at the Tickled Trout (PR5 0UJ). DIRECTIONS: exit the M6 at Junction 31, take the second exit at the roundabout, and drive round to the back of the petrol station. SECOND ACCESS POINT: for the Gregsons Farm portion, come out of the Tickled Trout garage and drive back towards Blackburn so the old police station is on your left; there is an easy-to-miss turning just after the houses - drive down and park at the farm, with river access from there.
