Ribblesdale Farm (Post Office)

Three car parks serve this 7-water length, all reached from the B6245 which runs alongside and turns off the A59 Preston-Clitheroe road at the traffic lights near Clayton-le-Dale. (1) MADGELL BANK: about half a mile before Ribchester Bridge a lane turns off left to Keeper's Cottage and Madgell Bank, where there is a car park at the riverside - this serves the LEFT-hand bank waters. (2) UPPER LEFT BANK: a short way further along the B6245 there is a public car park on the left, giving access via a steep slope to the upper beats of the left bank. (3) RIGHT BANK: further along, the road turns sharp left to cross at Ribchester Bridge; 600m after crossing, at the junction with Gallows Lane on the right, there is a locked gate on the left with a PAAS sign leading to a riverside car park about half-way along the RIGHT-hand bank. TAKE CARE leaving by this gate - visibility of oncoming traffic is poor. PAAS KEYS are required for the gates on these waters.
