A substantial PAAS water at Cressage, Shrewsbury — 3 miles of left-bank fishing opposite the existing Cound Estate water, plus a further 2 miles of right-bank water downstream, ending at Cressage Bridge. Banks mostly too overgrown for fly fishing except at the upper end. A superb mixed game and coarse fishery, noted for salmon and barbel, and also a good chub water. The fishing near Cressage Bridge is particularly good for specimen barbel and fine roach, and is a good salmon water too. Access for older members is good at Cressage Bridge itself.

Parking

Parking Information
Left and right bank stretches approached separately. LEFT BANK (upper limit): via B4380 from the A5 Shrewsbury bypass, through Atcham to the Viroconium crossroads, right to Wroxeter, through the village to Eyton-on-Severn, right past the water tower, continue until the track turns left — field gate on the right, park on the verge without blocking gateways. On foot down the lane, through the gate, right across the field to the river. LEFT BANK (downstream end): stay on B4380 to the Eaton Constantine crossroads (not to be confused with Eyton), follow the Cressage spur, right onto a by-road shortly before road meets river — gate leads to off-road parking for 3–4 cars. Steep path to a good salmon pool. RIGHT BANK: cross Cressage Bridge (the left bank's lower limit), park in the gated area ~250 yards from the river (room for 10–12), giving access to the right-hand bank length. Also reachable directly from Shrewsbury via A458.
