North Gare is a free stretch of the River Tees at the north side of the river mouth, on and inside the North Gare breakwater. No permit is needed for sea fishing; an Environment Agency rod licence is needed only for salmon, sea trout, eels or freshwater fish. Species include cod, whiting, flounder and bass. Night fishing is not published.
