A 2.5-mile PAAS water at Longner Hall, close to Shrewsbury — a wide river here, 35–40 yards, mostly left-bank fishing with a short right-bank Salmon Only section at the upper end (let to other clubs for coarse fishing). The main length is Mixed Game and Coarse, interrupted by two No Fishing zones — behind Ferry House and in front of the Hall. Continues downstream (double bank below the Hall, right-bank only below Atcham Bridge, Salmon Only 3rd March–7th October). Flat, generally accessible banks, overgrown in summer where not grazed. A good coarse fishery with a large head of barbel and chub, plus dace, roach, gudgeon, perch, bream, carp and pike; salmon run here though in reduced numbers, with the odd brown trout. Fishing may be restricted in winter months due to shooting on the estate.

Parking

Parking Information
Close to Shrewsbury. The separate right-bank Salmon Only water is reached via a narrow road between the Monument (next to the Shire Hall) and a Library building in Shrewsbury centre — past a school, fork right past the electricity sub-station, track to the car park (combination lock, number in membership card, no vehicles past the car park). Car park for the much longer left-bank stretch is near Ferry House. For Ferry House/Preston Farm, a car park is reached via small roads between Uffington and Upton Magna, north of the A5 — leave A49 at the B5062 roundabout, through Uffington, across A50 to Preston (consult OS Landranger 126 and the PAAS Map). Further parking near Atcham
