Hurst Green is a stretch on the River Ribble from Clough Bank Farm to below Sale Wheel pool (~1.5 mi), controlled by Warrington Anglers Association. Species include Salmon, Sea trout, Brown trout, Chub, Barbel, Dace, Pike, Roach. Night fishing is not permitted.

Season Ticket £

Full Warrington Anglers Association membership - see warrington-anglers.org.uk. All WAA waters are members-only with no day tickets sold anywhere. Optional add-on permits are available for night fishing and club keys. Membership runs 1 January to 31 December, with Junior (under 16), Intermediate (16-18), Senior and Ladies categories. Day Ticket £

Not applicable — the Association does not sell day tickets on any water.

Night Fishing

Not permitted by default. Warrington AA's rule: no member may fish any Association water from one hour after sunset until one hour before sunrise, EXCEPT where permitted under a night permit regulation governing that specific water. A separate night permit must be purchased, and night sessions must be booked by text between 9am and 6pm, up to 3 days in advance, one booking per person per week. No lights allowed except for baiting up. Whether this particular beat is a designated night venue is not published - check with the club.

Parking Information

Two access points. CLOUGH BANK FARM is the main access - a parking fee is charged by the farmer and a WAA sticker must be displayed; the walk down to the river is a steep hill (and a steep climb back). No vehicles are allowed past Clough Bank Farm. THROUGH HOUSE FARM, upstream, offers FREE parking and a gentler though longer walk in. Much of the bank forms part of the Ribble Way path. Members have reported resenting paying the farmer on top of subscriptions, so budget for the Clough Bank fee or use Through House.
