Hawes Upper Ure is a stretch of the River Ure running from the top boundary below Garsdale Head near Yore House to about a mile above Bainbridge, controlled by Hawes and High Abbotside Angling Association. Day permits and season licences are available. Species include brown trout, grayling and pike. Night fishing is not permitted.

Needs verification. Season licences are sold; cheaper local licences are only for people on the Hawes and High Abbotside electoral roll (and their children), everyone else pays visitor rates. No 2026 price is published: the club website hawesangling.co.uk returned 404 in Oct 2026 and the FishPal listing shows no prices. The last published figure (undated, from a retired guide's page) was £60 a season.

Day Ticket £

Needs verification. Visitor day permits are booked online through FishPal (max 6 rods, double bank; book by 10:00 Mon, Sat and Sun or 12:00 Tue to Fri on the day). FishPal shows no price without a live booking search. The last published figures (undated, retired guide's page) were £16 a day and £35 a week, so treat them as out of date.
