Girsby is a stretch of the River Tees at Girsby, around Girsby Bridge below the Sockburn loop, controlled by Middlesbrough Angling Club. Fishing is for club members. Species are likely to include barbel, chub, dace, roach, perch, grayling, brown trout and salmon (taken from the neighbouring water). Night fishing is not permitted.

Season Ticket £

2026 Middlesbrough Angling Club membership: adult £50, OAP and disabled £25, youth 14 to 17 £10, junior under 14 £5, non-fishing guardian £10; new adults pay an entrance fee of half the full fee (OAP and disabled £10). The 2026 allocation is full and new applicants go on a waiting list.

Day Ticket £

No day tickets. Only fully paid-up members may fish club waters (club rule 9).

Night Fishing

Not permitted. Club rule 15: no night fishing on club waters (Marske Reservoir night syndicate only).
