Common Mead Lane/Chantry is a stretch of the Dorset Stour running from Watersmeet to Eccliffe Mill, controlled by Gillingham & District Angling Association. Day tickets are available, so you do not need to be a member to fish here. Species include chub, roach, bream, perch, dace, grayling, carp and trout. Night fishing is not permitted.

Common Mead Lane: nearest is next to Tinknell Fuels on Brickfields Industrial Estate (what3words: bleaching.shares.urging); the library car park also serves it but the club notes it is a LONG WALK. Access to Common Mead Lane is from the back of Brickfields Industrial Estate, off New Road, Gillingham.
