Aldborough Cricket Field is a stretch of the River Ure running from just below Boroughbridge to a little above Hall Arms Lane, controlled by Boroughbridge & District Angling Club. Day tickets and memberships are available. Species include barbel, chub, dace, roach, perch and pike. Night fishing is not permitted.

2026/27 (1 Apr to 31 Mar): Adult £50, Senior Citizen £30, Disabled £25, Intermediate £25, Junior free. 6-month winter membership (1 Oct to 31 Mar): Adult £30, Junior free. £3 handling charge online. Members guest ticket £7 (2026/27).

Day Ticket £

£7 a day (2026/27 club online price). Day tickets only on this stretch, bought up to two weeks ahead, not on Sunday match venues, not in the coarse close season. The town council page still shows £5 (2025).

Night Fishing

No. The club says NO NIGHT FISHING on any of its waters. Day tickets end at set times each month: Jan 4pm, Feb 5pm, Mar 6pm, Jun 9:30pm, Jul 10pm, Aug 9:30pm, Sep 7pm, Oct 5pm, Nov and Dec 4pm (Apr and May closed for the coarse close season).

Cricket Field: park on Aldborough Road opposite the primary school and walk to the river on the public footpath only. Hall Arms Lane: continue past Aldborough towards Dunsforth, take the lane on the left at the end of the walled garden and park on the riverside parking area or by the lane wall without blocking it; walk upstream to the club limit board.
